Waterproof magnets
Rubberised magnets consist of a neodymium permanent magnet covered with a layer of rubber. This means that these magnets can be used outdoors and in damp conditions, which would otherwise be impossible as normal neodymium magnets oxidise easily. The rubber coating also means that they can be applied to sensitive surfaces such as glass whiteboards without scratching. br > Because of the rubber coating, the adhesive strength is slightly lower than that of neodymium magnets without a rubber coating. Instead, they have a very high shear friction (surface friction) which prevents them from sliding easily on the surface to which they are attached.
