Whiteboard or glass board — which magnets do you need?
The most important thing to know when buying office magnets is the difference between magnets for whiteboards and magnets for glass boards. A regular whiteboard has a thin metal surface, and even weak magnets can hold a few sheets of paper. A glass board, on the other hand, has a layer of glass in front of the metal plate, and the extra distance means only stronger magnets can hold on. If you use regular board magnets on a glass board, they will slide off.
