The magnet has a diameter of 43 mm and a total height of 10.5 mm. The strength is 10 kg, and the magnet is covered in white rubber. The magnet can be mounted using a screw that fits into the threaded socket of the pot magnet.
The strength stated is measured by pulling from a horizontal surface such as a ceiling beam. If the magnet is placed on a vertical surface (a wall) instead, you may find that the magnet can hold fewer kilograms than stated on this page. This is not because the magnet is weak, but because the magnet will either start to slip or topple over. The rubber coating on the magnet increases friction, and therefore, it can hold more kilos before it starts to slip. Things to know about rubber-coated pot magnets with threaded sleeve
- IMPORTANT: The threaded hole goes all the way through the magnet. Therefore, be careful when screwing the magnet in place so that the rubber on the opposite side of the threaded hole is not damaged by the screw
- The rubber coating increases friction, so the magnet can hold more weight before it starts to slip
- The rubber coating prevents scratches on delicate surfaces
- Despite the rubber coating, the magnet is not suitable for outdoor use. It can withstand a few drops of water, but constant moisture will damage the magnet
