Description
This is a neodymium magnet encased in a countersunk steel capsule or "pot" which can be fitted with a countersunk screw. The pot magnet has a diameter of 16 mm and a height of 4.50 mm. The strength is 6.90 kg. The steel pot increases the strength of the magnet when the magnet is in direct contact with a steel surface.
The strength of the pot magnet is measured in horizontal pull. In other words, how many kilograms it can hold before it releases when attached to a ceiling beam, for example. If the pot magnet is placed on a smooth vertical surface (e.g., a metal wall), you may find that it slides down before reaching its maximum strength.
