What is magnet therapy?
Magnetic therapy is an alternative form of treatment that aims to increase blood flow and improve the body's ability to heal itself. If you delve into magnet therapy, you'll find several nuances and interpretations, but they all stem from the same mindset.
Does magnet therapy work?
This is where it starts to get difficult to give a clear answer. The people who ask us about magnet therapy tell us that it works. Most often for pain and soreness in joints and muscles. Whether magnets work for everyone is unlikely, but some people seem to benefit from it.
Can you recommend the best magnet for magnet therapy?
No, we cannot make recommendations on which magnets to use for magnet therapy. We are happy to answer product questions, but we cannot give advice on which magnets work best for treating the body. Not because we don't want to, but because it's outside our area of expertise. Instead, we will refer you to your general practitioner who is qualified to provide advice and guidance on the health of the body. If the questions are instead specifically about our products, we are happy to answer them. This could be questions about the alloy of the magnets, their strength, placement of magnetic poles and similar questions.
If you need magnets with other alloys than the ones you find in the shop, you are always welcome to contact us.
Is there anything I should be aware of when buying magnets for magnet therapy?
- Most magnets have an alloy of nickel. This can cause nickel allergy. We have a few magnets with other alloys such as gold, zinc, Teflon and copper. They may be a better choice.
- The magnetic poles are located on the largest flat sides.
- Be careful not to buy too powerful magnets. Two magnets that come close to each other will slap together with great force and you could get hurt. On top of that, the magnets will also be damaged by colliding.
- To identify which pole is the north pole and which pole is the south pole, you need to check it yourself. Read this article to see how to do it: Link
- On each product page you can see how many gauss a magnet has.
